3 Steps Closer to the Oval Office

By Political Parity on October 6, 2015

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself what it would mean to have a woman president? Really stopped, for a moment, and wondered how it would change the textbooks in our classrooms, the faces printed on the money in our pockets, or the perception of young girls when we ask them, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Only a handful of women have ever had the opportunity to run for President of the United States. We partnered with Marianne Schnall to interview Representative Pat Schroeder (D – CO), Senator Carol Moseley Braun (D – IL), and Jill Stein (2012 and 2016 Green Party candidate). Listen in as these courageous women tell us their stories in pursuit of the White House and illuminate how they collectively advanced all women three steps closer to the Oval Office.

“Just do it. You’ll never know, if you don’t even try.”                                                -Carol Moseley Braun on encouraging other women to run

Marianne’s first interview with the Pat Schroeder can be found in her book.

In consideration of our nonpartisan mission, Political Parity reached out to candidates from across the political spectrum. Due to scheduling conflicts, we were only able to secure interviews with past presidential candidates from the Democratic and Green parties. We are excited to share interviews with inspiring women from the Right side of the aisle in the next phase of our collaborative series.
